Tehidy Residency

Tehidy Residency - September 2025

This September, Stillness and Light  a project of Elowen Media – will take root at Tehidy Woods. I’ll be walking the woods, watching the light shift through the trees, and letting the quiet guide my lens.

This residency is part of the Tehidy Creative Community and Wellness Initiative, part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Throughout the month, I’ll be inviting others into this space of stillness by offering a series of photography workshops. Together, we’ll explore how slowing down and proactively studying our environment can transform the way we see and create.

From my time here, I’ll be gathering images into a book and a 2026 calendar, both born from patient looking and thoughtful making.

I’ll also be documenting the residency on YouTube, sharing the process, the landscapes, and the quiet moments in motion.
For those who’d like to go deeper, I’ll post exclusive previews, field notes, and behind-the-scenes reflections on my Patreon page.

If you have any questions about the residency, the workshops, or the work itself, I’d love to hear from you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if it rains?

Workshops will go ahead in light rain. If very heavy rain or unsafe conditions are forecast, I will contact you to discuss rescheduling or refunds.

What should I wear?

Comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear are best, as we’ll be walking on woodland paths. Layers are useful, and waterproofs if the forecast suggests rain.

What equipment should I bring?

Bring either a camera or a phone, whichever you feel most comfortable with. You may also want a small notebook and pen for jotting down ideas, and a bottle of water. For full-day workshops, please bring a packed lunch. And a tripod will be useful for the twilight sessions.

What kind of terrain will it be?

We’ll be using the footpaths in Tehidy Woods. The terrain is mostly flat with some uneven ground, but we won’t be hiking long distances. If you have any accessibility concerns, please let me know in advance and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

Do I need any photography experience?

Not at all. These workshops are designed for beginners as well as those with more experience. The focus is on seeing differently and connecting creatively, with support available at whatever level you need.

How many people will be there?

Workshops are kept small and friendly, usually between 6–10 people, so there’s space for conversation, guidance, and quiet moments.

What if I need to cancel?

If you can’t make it, please let me know as soon as possible. Cancellations up to 7 days before the workshop can be refunded in full, or transferred to another session. Within 7 days, refunds will not be possible.

Is food or drink provided?

Please bring your own water/drink and snacks.

For full-day sessions, hot drinks will be available at the cottage, but please bring a packed lunch and your drinks/snacks.
